so, i am moving in two days.  i don't know why, but all the big moves in my "business" world are inspired JUST before big moves in my other life.  like...  i got my tax id and made my first big fabric order the week i moved here.  and now, i opened up "shop" within the month i am moving!  never fear...  pink hydrangea shop is not going far... just pausing for a few weeks.  i am packing up my sewing stuff and moving it in with the 'rents for the summer.  then, my fabric, kids and i will move to our tropical island destination!!  so, think, plan and dream about what you want to order.  you can even go ahead and order it.  but i won't be shipping until may 25th.  (plus, now is as good a time as any to pause the business... WAIT FOR IT... cause i won't be idle in my time.  i am planning BIG THINGS for when i am back!)

stuff i have been doing...

balancing books... i finally did my taxes and have (i think) 

figured out how i want to do my books...

turning out a bunch of handles for the "pink hydrangea" bags...

i did these one night while the hubs and i watched some good old tv!

i opened the shop just over a week ago.  i have made ONE sale!  (i am pretty excited about that one!!)  in the midst of preparing to move in three weeks, be in transition for two months, then finish a move to the other side of the world (or so it feels), i haven't wanted to be too overwhelmed with orders.  this pace has been good.  i also have had one more custom order (that might turn into a shop stock) that was done locally.  i am going to take some pics of it and can't wait to show you!  for now, i am packing, purging, and preparing to move!!  (meanwhile, sewing away... does it surprise you that my sewing "stuff" is the first bag i will make sure i can fit?  clothes can come later...)

A SHOP!!!

okay, so i opened the shop today.  there are currently a few things in there.  they can be customized in a variety of ways.  different fabrics.  monograms.  anything else you can dream of, i am willing to consider.  this is what i am starting with!  so, there is a link in the right hand sidebar.  check me out!  buy something.  share me on fb/twitter...   enjoy it...

what i've been working on...

getting things up and running... like organizing my finances!  

(boring, i know... but it feels so much better now!)

and some new bags... here are the handles that i turned right side out during a game of scrabble with the hubs.  he takes a long time with his moves.  these are for nine new bags to go in the shop... hopefully next week!

i have been working with a wonderful new friend on a logo for this company.  she has done a fabulous job, and i have the tough job of picking what i want!  but, check out her blog to see my options, and you can check back here soon to see what i decided on.

also, i am working on filling up my shop.  i have a shop (and when i have a few things in it, i'll tell you where it is!), and can't wait to show you some new stuff...

some new things...

i had been hunting for this table.  i found it at a consignment store, but didn't want to pay $20 for it.  i went back again, but it still wasn't reduced.  i went back again, and it was gone.  i was so sad (there were several other goings-back, but it's an island we live on, and it's not tourist season, so hours are whatever the owner wants...).  i randomly went back again, and it was there again!  and $12.  i actually paid more for a picture frame than this.  and, i had a ton of paint from another project.  so....

i told the hubs last night that i feel like our room is almost finished.  he laughed and said, "we are moving in six weeks".  (i should also mention that in my looking for a pedestal bedside table, i wanted to buy another one, significantly more than $12, and asked permission as it would have exceeded my budget.  he said no, it would be one more thing to move.  so, when i asked him to bring this in from the car, i couldn't look at him.  he read it for what it was... that i knew he wouldn't be as excited as i was!!!)  but, i LOVE it in our bedroom...  

i have had this "veggie tales" fabric for awhile.  the kids just lug it around, raw edges and all...  so, i decided to put it on some left over minky i had!  j loves it!

a new shirt... but the collar should NOT have been interfaced... he looks like a clown!  

another new shirt.  thanks to ruthanne for the inspiration on the fabric.  she suggested i use it!  it looks so cute...  (i also made one with a "b" for a certain baby b that is due any day!!)
